White House Criticizing Obama's Ad Kiss

WASHINGTON - The White House on Thursday, criticized Benetton's new advertising campaign that shows U.S. President Barack Obama is making out with the Leader of China and Venezuela on the mouth.

"The White House has long had a policy that does not approve the use of names and equations president for commercial purposes," said a spokesman, Eric Schultz, on ads that also has sparked protests from the Vatican.

The ad, which disclosed on Wednesday, shows Obama kissing pictures Chinese President Hu Jintao and Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez. The controversial campaign has provoked criticism from the Vatican on other posters in the series that shows Pope Benedict XVI kisses an important priest.

The Vatican says Pope by Benetton's depiction of "hurt not only the dignity of the pope but also feelings of religious believers". They had asked his lawyer "to take action in Italy and abroad to prevent the circulation in the media and elsewhere about the image created as part of Benetton's advertising campaign.

The poster was visible in the Benetton clothing store in selutuh world and also in newspapers, magazines and on Internet pages, the company defended the campaign as intended "only to combat the culture of hatred in all its forms".
