Nokia Meltemi Project-Based Development of Mobile Linux OS S40 Replacement
Once it starts to leave the Symbian OS, Nokia is reportedly developing a mobile operating system again. This new OS, according to the plan will be used for mobile phones which is devoted to the lower middle market precisely to replace the Nokia S40.
From the Wall Street Journal's sources, this new OS will be developed from Linux with the code name Meltemi. In the near future, this project, the rumors will be submitted directly to the executive vice president in charge of the field of mobile phones Nokia, Mary McDowell.
Currently they are developing mobile phone-based WP 7 Mango. However, the use of WP 7 Mango OS only devoted to high end phones. Though most of its revenue from the mobile phone market Nokia is the low end, about 47 percent.
In addition, by developing its own OS, it can also provide advantages for Nokia. By having its own OS, Nokia may appear different when compared with its competitors, especially Android and iPhone
