REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, CALIFORNIA - Google Inc unveiled a new online music service on Wednesday. Observers said the new service is positioned in a move to challenge the dominance of market leader online music store before, Apple Inc. and Amazon.com Inc..

Millions of new service features songs from record label EMI, Sony Music, and Universal, are provided. However, they will not provide the music from the Warner Group.

Google, which introduced the service at an event at Mr. Brainwash Studios in Hollywood, California on Wednesday, said consumers in the United States will be able to purchase music via the Android Market, which offers smartphone applications, electronic books and videos.

To boost marketing, Google said it will offer a free song for consumers who are downloading songs every day.

Google also will allow consumers to share their purchased tracks with their friends via social networking Google +. This feature will provide users of Google + what they call the free, full-play, divide the songs purchased confined to their friends.

Analysts said the latest services in the form of online music sales will be significantly raised Google's revenue. They say Google needs to be in this market to ensure that Android can compensate for what their competitors offer, such as Apple and Amazon.

"Without music service, Android devices like cell phones and tablets do not seem as attractive to consumers," writes CNN.
